1/24 Tamiya Loctite Zexel GT-R (R34) For the 2000 JGTC season the car was further honed in efforts to secure yet another championship (to add to 1998, 1999 championships). The rear wing and diffuser were compacted to cut down on drag. The 2.7 litre engine was dropped down for a lower center of gravity. In a fresh departure form the yellow body colouring of the Pennzoil Nismo, the 2000 version of the GT-R featured an intrepid white and red design (my favorite colour combination). This is the most recent of my models being finished the day before writing this. The majority of time on this model was spent on trying to get the white to look nice and even on the body (white seems to be the colour I have the most trouble with). The interior was almost identical to the Pennzoil car with just a few small differences (exhaust system). Some of the exterior decals can be a bit fiddly to apply but by taking your time and using decal sealant it is possible to get them looking nice and straight. Using Guiddy's information on how to produce good looking black lining for doors and small gaps this car has come out as my best effort yet. (even if I did forget the carbon fibre decal on the recaro race seat) Back
