Tamiya Nissan R390 GT1 1/24 Sports car series No.192 Car Info Car was entered by Nissan for the 1997 Le Mans 24hr. The car was jointly devoleped bt Nissan and TWR (Tom Walkinshaw Racing) 3.5 V8 @600 horsepower. Transversely mounted 6 speed transmission. 4 wheel double wish bone suspension is connected to the horizontally mounted shock absorbers via pushrods. The Kit The detail of this kit is just awesome. Engine and cockpit are first class. Requires a lot of painting to get the correct detail and also a bit of paint mixing is need of different colours. It almost seems a shame to have to cover so much work up with the body. You have to paint the body red first (MS3) then mask to paint the black. Tamiya supply a brillant decal to apply to the bonnet and sides to give a nice blend between the two colours All parts fit well and the car has a nice low race car look. Summary I brought this kit just to enter our model club championship. The model had to be built straight from the box and no extras are allowed to be added. I think the pictures say enough about the detail. Got first place for Car built from box and first place for Overall Model Built From Box. Back
