Hasegawa Subaru Impreza WRX Ver. III

1/24 Hasegawa Subaru Impreza WRX Ver. III
This is a 1/24 Subaru Impreza WRX kit by Hasegawa, which I eventually has converted into the WRX STI Ver III.
This has got to be the most heavily modified kit I've done to date... Since day 1 after I got the kit, I've hand built a front chin from scratch using the following (Tamiya Epoxy Putty, Tamiya Tooth Paste Putty, & Mr. Surface 500). The side and rear skirts that comes with the kit were lack of detail and didn't fit too well, so I went ahead and scratch built the side and rear skirts as well.
Along with this body kit, I've taken the stock rear wing off of a Fujimi Mitsubishi FTO as a base, and rebuilt the mid height rear wing that comes with the Ver. 3 in Japan.
After the Body kit has been put on and primed, the kit has sat in my display case for a total of 3 plus years until just last week... I decided to finish it.
The biggest modification required on this kit was putting another set of
rims on, since the rims that came with this kit was STUPID-LY small.
I took a set of 17" wheels from a Fujimi Initial D RX-7 FC3S to be put on this Impreza. But due to the different way Hasegawa and Fujimi rims are mounted the wheels has to be modified as well as a lot of the suspension parts on the car in order to fit them on.
Details on this can be Found on the "read more about this model" link.
The interior of this Impreza was painted into a blue and black two tone color instead of using the ugly red interior decals which came with this kit.
And finally, the exhaust system was taken from the Fujimi Initial D RX-7 FC3S as well.
Overall, I did not like the way this kit turned out. Although this was the most instensively modified kit I have built to date, it was not what I have expected from the amount of time and hard work I've put in.
Hasegawa kits are extremelly hard to modify due to the complicated suspension details included, as well as the extra extra small wheels that come with the kit. Another thing was the clear parts did not seem to fit too too well.
