1/12 1969 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 This is the 1/12 scale version of the `69 Z28. It features the rare 2 barrel cross ram setup on a 302. It was rated at 290hp, but was known to be closer to 400hp. I had to widen the tires since the stock ones were so narrow. I did this by cutting each tire into a 1/3 part and a 2/3 part, and doing the same with 4 tires from another of these kits (I had 3). Then I took the 2/3 parts and glued them to the other 2/3 parts. Other than that, I built this one basically box stock, except for carpeting. The kit comes with excellent detail, and only minor fit problems around the front suspension. The finish is 7 coats of duplicolor laquer followed by wetsanding. Then I applied 5 coats of duplicolor clear and wetsanded again. I applied 5 more coats of duplicolor clear, wetsanded once again, and finally rubbed it out with two grades of comound. I finished it off with 4 caots of Zaino polish which worked great on black! Back
