Timing covers waiting for primer to check imperfections with filler.

In original engine is covered with fiberglass shields













I decided to try to make the cover with a film using vacuum forming

These are my patterns cast in silicone molds with plaster

I got old film from a friend who is more like fiberglass and does not need to paint



First attempt with this film is not successful. Is thicker and requires a higher temperature and I was afraid that melting a hole in it. I will be tried tomorrow.

I think that fiberglass would be too thick. Film is thinner. The engine cover is a lot of embossment and the shape is rather complex. Film adapts better to the shape.

This film from my friend is unfortunately, too thick. Increasing the temperature did not help.

I do not have any books about the Porsche 910. All pictures found on the Internet (google). Many hours of searching. Does not have too many photos detail of porsche 910 but the model 906 is very similar. Porsche 906 photos, you can find out more.
