This was finished a few months back but forgot to take completed pictures of it :)

This was a fun 2 week project, not much modifications except for the excessive camber and lowered suspension + stretch wall old school wheels.

Paint is orange basecoat, topped with 3 coats of bronze nail polish and 2k clear coat.

haas-al, The basecoat orange is made by Krylon, cheap spraycan which I decanted for airbrush use. The nail polish didn't have a brand :) and the clearcoat I used is made by Anzahl.

ton394, these are fujimi volk mesh I believe and the stretch walls are urethane rubber casts that I made from aoshima tires

krylon which is used for graffiti or other series? I ask because i didn't find any acceptable paint from sprays.... one of my projects is now destroyed by spray auto paint... i need a lot of putty now... i'm using 2 components urethan paints or tamiya cans, and collecting information about different sprays....

haas-al, yup its the cheap krylon for graffiti and stuff :) what primer do you use? maybe the problem is with the primer? with automotive paint, you have to spray a lot more mist coats.

Pardon my actual machanical knowledge of cars, it's not uncommon to see wheel mis-alignment in the builds, is it a real case for these type of tires or a common pitfall for modelers when lowering the ride height?

When I did mine, I found cutting short the shock absorber is easy, but lots of time of fine-tuning needed to put in for also modifying the swing arm, shaft and sometimes the chassis, just to make the wheels align.

Can any expert give some advice?

modelaholics, you're right that camber is normally affected when you lower your builds and most of the time, I would fix that as well to make sure the wheels are aligned and flushed with the fenders. In this case though, the exaggerated camber of the wheels were done on purpose just like the japanese bosozoku cars. I actually bent the metal axles in a V shape to get that tilt :D I guess its the Japanese's way to squeeze in super wide wheels in small fenders.

Tamiya spray primer... maybe that's it: i had to do some mist coats and let em dry, than increase intensity. But i didn't o that, all coats were done in 20 minutes,,,,

haas-al, I use tamiya primer as well. It looks like you need to let the primer dry a little more. I normally give it at least a few days, give it a light sand and then the color followed by 20 minutes inbetween coats.

Coats of paint were done in 20 minutes.... not primer.... primering was done 3 days before that... :sly:

oh, that should be fine then. Maybe clear is sprayed on too thick then? I'm running out of ideas :D
