Today I searched for a new project. I wanted to do a VIP car again, so my eyes felt on this beauty:

http://albums.modelbrouwers.nl/coppermine/albums/userpics/10027/inhoud_001_%28Medium%29~9.jpg

I never heard of this car, but looks great and it's the perfect base for a VIP car. The model is from Aoshima, so as usual the bumpers don't fitt very well.

Here's a quick look in the kit:

A VIP car needs at least 20'' wheels on it, so I searched for a nice set. I think these Leon Hardiritt Waffe wheels looks great!

http://albums.modelbrouwers.nl/coppermine/albums/userpics/10027/inhoud_007_%28Medium%29~7.jpg

And a quick dryfit with the wheels:

http://albums.modelbrouwers.nl/coppermine/albums/userpics/10027/inhoud_009_%28Medium%29~5.jpg

The color must be something special. Normally I like VIP cars in black or dark blue, but now I wanted to something else :) TS-60 Pearl Green would look nice I think.

The interior will be black and with some aluminium I think. The wheelcenters will be painted flat black.

Yes, another cool project! I'm sure about the wheels, I also used this set for my LS600hL Lexus. As for the green body, I'm curious about the finished look of the body!

New update:

I painted the body and his parts with 4 layers of Pearl Green.

After that I added the decals and added the bmf on the windowframes:

Now I have clearcoated it and I'll polish it sunday I think.

aoshima i assume?

I have a GS300 'check shop' one. For some reason that interior and the one form the GS are 100% identical... :eek7:

Nonetheless, looks like a great build. I have to paint the exterior on mine, its going to be a metallic red! :grinyes:

The pearl green and chrome look good together. I'm thinking like like oldschool muscle car, or lo-rydah.

Is it just me, or is "Crown Athlete" an amazingly lame name for a car? Something must have been lost in translation. :sly:

Looking good, and the wheels suit it perfectly.

Oddly enough, I really like the green paint on this car. Do we have a potential new trend in VIP here?

I like the colour - did you spray it directly over grey (or white) priner, or did you do a silver coat first?

Directly over the white Tamiya primer.

I also polished this body this weekend.

After that I placed the sideskirts and frontbumper. Without the ligths the frontbumper fits good, but with the lights on it, it never fits anymore. I did a lot of changes on them but nothing works.... Now I just glued it with very strong glue, so it never falls of anymore. That gap between the fender and bumper is something I don't look at it anymore :D Stupid Aoshima kits with their shit fitment bodykits. (it's always the same...)

The past days, I worked on the interior of this car.

I wanted something different, like the bodycolor, so I asked my mom to search some colors I had to use.

The main color is Flat Sky. The interiorflocking is green, and I used some aluminium and semigloss black for details.

http://albums.modelbrouwers.nl/coppermine/albums/userpics/10027/interieur_001_%28Medium%29~3.jpg

http://albums.modelbrouwers.nl/coppermine/albums/userpics/10027/interieur_005_%28Medium%29~3.jpg

After I completed the interior, I thought it was a bit boring. So I added some VIP gangster details on the interior.

Now back to the bodywork and start on the chassis.

I know it's not interesting, but here's a new update!

Today I did a lot of work on this car.

First I started with the chassis. Most parts are already painted last week, so today I could assamble.

The chassis is very nice, but a bit difficult with all those real springs. They're not for nothing. You can change the ride height and camber by fixing the screws. The springs will be pushed together and the suspension behaves like a real car.

After I placed everything, I wheaterd the chassis and added some heating on the exhaust.

The brakes were sprayed with some smoke for a light wash.

http://albums.modelbrouwers.nl/coppermine/albums/userpics/10027/chassis_en_body_002_%28Medium%29.jpg

http://albums.modelbrouwers.nl/coppermine/albums/userpics/10027/chassis_en_body_006_%28Medium%29.jpg

On to the body.

First I painted the windows. The black trim around them was painted by hand, using some masking tape. After this was done, I could add the wipers and mirror inside. Than I glued it into the body.

The body also got his lightglasses. On the front I painted a black trim around them, because the plastic didn't look nice without them. The frontbumper also got some foglights.
The taillights are painted red, and the white area was covered with some maskingtape.

I also added the sidemirrors on the body.

And this is what is left over :D It will be finished very soon I think

eh, I gotta comment on this.

It's looking FANTASTIC.

Really like the theme, the colors.

I've said this before, but I'll say it again; it's been a joy seeing your building ability progress, even though you've attained a high level some time ago.

The under chassis is especially lovely. The subtle washes and textures speak volumes to me.

I love the color combination. Overall, this model rocks.

Don't worry about the lack of comments. We all know they're looking hard as you demonstrate your efficient style worthy of emulation.

I agree that this is turning out to be a very interesting build with that green color you used. I would've never used that color but it looks great especially with your model skill ability. I can't wait to see it all put together.
