If you buy a cheap body kit it will fit like shit, if you want a nice kit that fits well it will cost more money and you will have to probably do some work to it to make it look really good. I would also go with urethane kit instead of fiberglass. The urethane kits tend to kit better. Just done get one from ebay, find a good repectable site and you should be fine.

so ive been checking out body kits on andysautosports.com.
they seem to be pretty legit? Anybody buy a kit from them before? If so how did it fit. Also how can you compare the urethane kits and fiberglass? I was looking at the drifter kit and i think they dont have it in urethane. With fiberglass isnt it just more fragile to cracking and chipping etc? Fiberglass kits are alot cheaper. Theres a company called Vision Auto who makes kits claimed to be made of a combination of fiberglass and carbon fiber. Wondering if they are legit? Just wondering if the extra $200 for a urethane over fiberglass is worth it? Thanks for the help

If you buy cheap caca... what do you think it will look like? I personally dont like most kits as they dont flow with the car well. and be prepared to pay a lot of money for a shop to make it fit half way decent.

I don't think you should get the body kit... Look on ebay for the Urethane front lip for about $150.00 shipped. Add that to your exist front bumper (Bond it so it becomes one piece).. Then have your front bumper repainted.. then get a good set of Struts and Springs and drop your car a good 2-2.5 inches. After that you won't even want a body kit. Plus all this can be achieved for almost half of what it would cost to buy, paint, and have the body kit installed.

You have a 2gb which is a super sexy car. Lower it a bit and the stock kit looks so damn good. If you still choose to get a body kit you can sell your stock bumpers so a couple hundred to offset some of the cost. If they are in good shape.

Um, no. If you get a good kit, you won't have to make it fit half way decent.
A guy I know has a 2g Eclipse with a "Blitz" style kit. Its urethane and its extreme dimensions brand. He put it on in his driveway, without having to modify it at all, and it fit flawless...
I've also heard good things about Andys Auto Sport brand kits.

My buddy ordered a kit from there and he like it. He half-assed it so it wasn't up to its full potential. I agree that lowering is a must if your going for a bk. If you slap a bk you better have some 18" wheels at least or your going to be faced with the ugliest wheel gap ever! IMO, drop the car first, if its still not making you happy then put a kit on it. Remember you will scrape on every single little dip.

Your not lying about the scraping... I got a kit.. but just added a front lip on the stock bumper.... then lowered my car... Now my car (front bumper) is about 1 inch off the ground.. an inch and a half if i'm lucky... I scrape the ground on average about 10 times a day. I can only get in the drive way if I angle the car. And even then I still scrape quite a bit. Will 18" rims pick me up about an inch? I have 17's on now.

Don't get one, they aren't worth it unless it's a show car. I've cracked my blitz urethane front bumper twice, and I put tons of hours into it making it fit halfway decent. They may have gotten better in fitment over the years, but when I got mine when the import craze had just started, it fit like hell.
IMO, the 2bg looks super sexy the way it is. Drop it a few inches and throw some 18's on it, possibly a front lip, and call it good.

Yes, 18's will lift the car one inch, IF you get the same size tires you have on your 17's. What tire setup do you have on the 17's? I have 215/40/ZR17 on the RS with the blitz kit and it's slammed (you can see in my avatar how low it sits). I scrape everywhere I go, hence cracking the front twice. If I was you, I'd spend the money on some 18's so you don't have it so low and risk busting the bumper like I did.
