I am attempting to perform an oil change on a relatives 2003 V10, can anyone tell me the location of the oil drain plug? I've been told it isn't located on the oil pan like most drain plugs, is this true. Also do I need any special tools or procedure for this job or is it just like every other oil change. I have a 1995 F-150 XLT. My relative insists that everything on the excursion including oil changes has to be done by the dealer? really? Also I noticed this truck uses oil, it was down almost two quarts this weekend. thanks

I don't know who gave you the information, but the drain plug is in the oil pan. There is no difference in this and your F150. You can change it yourself. It is possible that the transmission is a little different, but the oil change is still a DIY project.

Thanks for the timely response, I found it hard to believe that an oil change was rocket science, thanks again.
