Hi,

Got my D16A6 engine in my car for the first time.
So i go to connect the negative battery terminal and it just sparks real bad. I dont wanna try to tighten it cause im afraid ill get shocked.
Could I have left something out? I just put a new fuse panel in.
Thanks

to what? between the battery and wire is okay, you can not get shocked by 12V. The more stuff running (headlights, radio, etc..) the more it will spark as you hook it up.

if you hook it up and its sparkin like crazy....then your polarity is reversed in the battery, or you have a positive wire possibly grounding out.....I'd re check the electrical system.

I tried again and connected it to the negative terminal. It sparks real crazy then stopped sparking once it was on there. then it even started to melt the battery termnial. I quickly took it off.

Ill try and recheck the postive wires tommorow morning.
If anyone else knows what might cause this problem please let me know.
Thanks

Alright I double checked the wiring and it looks fine.
I tried puttin the negative terminal on first, then I put the positve terminal on. It stopped sparking and looked like it would work.
But I went to turn the key on and there is absolutely no power.
Could the battery have lost all its power just for sitting for 2-3 weeks?
Thanks
