A Crown Vic for Towing?

Hi--
I'm interested in getting an older Crown Vic (80s? 90s?) for towing a medium size travel trailer of around #3000. I like the idea of a comfortable car to drive. I've had my share of Suburbans and SUVs and would like to try a sedan.

Any particulars to look for? Thanks for any advice. I've never owned one of these and so I don't have a huge background. Even general advice on years or engines would be useful.

If you're looking for one for towing, any 2001+ will have the better PI version of the Romeo 4.6 2V mod motor. In the police interceptor, this is rated 250 HP and 297 ft lb torque (PI means Performance improved, Windsor engines got it in 1999 and the Romeo engines in 2001).

An old Police Interceptor will probably be most capable of towing and a lot of these can be had with the receivers already installed.
