2005 T&C camera looking sensor just below hvac center vents

What in the world is this thing???? It looks like a camera lens. It is located just below the dash center a/c vents (in the middle). Looked in the owners manual and it doesn't say what it does. Thanks AF crew!

That is a sensor for the Automatic Climate Control.
