95 Jeep Grand Cherokee transmission question

Just checking to see if anyone would know if the transmission from a 95 GC with a V8 would fit and work in a 95 GC with the 6 cylinder? Thanks

sorry, the v-8 trans is a 46 RE and the 6 cylinder uses a 42 RE.
