And here we are, complete! This has been my longest project, something close to 800 hours of work. It was a very complex and fun build, involving a lot of methods and things I hadn't tried before. A great kit and one that BEGS to be detailed. Just sooooo many opportunities to add details here and there.

As for the model, all of the nose detail is scratchbuilt, as the kit detail is rudimentary at best. The RB Motion side pod kit is just fabulous to say the least. It really adds a lot to the model. All four dampers are turned (by me), as well as the rear damper reservoirs. Please, if you have questions, feel free to ask me! Enjoy the pics!

A beautiful piece of art Daniel! I've been inspired enough to get my old kit out of the attic and dust it down!:licka:

A sickening display of meticulous skill and planning. I will now destroy everything I ever built...except my Cobra. :banghead:

Daniel this has probably been asked before, but what company and part number did you use for the front of the tub by the front suspension electrics and plumbing? and also the lower airbox by the velocity stacks
Thanks Daniel

That would be Daniel's Blood, Sweat and Tears Co. parts. All are scratchbuilt except for the connectors, which are Top Studio. The dampers are turned (by me) in brass. I used detail photos to try and get it as accurate as possible.

One of the finest 1/12th Williams FW14B's I've ever seen. Every part is perfect, like lots of incredibly detailed smaller models built into one, stunning..!!

I'm sorry Daniel - I was aware of that - I meant the carbon fiber decal used in those locations
Thanks

Those are KA Models' CF type A. There are only two types, one plain weave and one twill this was the twill (type A). They are really great decals.

I was just kidding around about it. No harm, no foul.

Nice work, looks even better in person

Were you the one that passed me on 475 on Sat. after the show in a blue/gray Speed3 w/black wheels and KY tags? I was in a white Protege5. I saw the Speed3 at the show.

Yep, guilty as charged! ;) I must have been focused in--I don't remember seeing you. I wasn't excited about the 4 hour drive. The last two were in DRIVING rains that were coming down at the rate of 2-3 inches PER HOUR. Not fun to drive in!

It was good to see you at the show! I swear, I was in line and saw you talking with (can't remember his name from Scale Auto) about your Carrera GT and I thought to myself, "I know him--where do I know him from?" I could not place you for the life of me. Then, talking to you, I realized you had changed glasses. It makes you look A LOT younger. Weird how that works, so take it as a complement!

Thanks for the kind words, Bob! Coming from someone of your talent, I certainly appreciate that greatly. I'm really hoping to come down with Chopper to the ACME show in a few weeks. Hopefully, all the stars line up just right! Trying to get away from the wife with 3 and 5 year old boys isn't easy...:)

Amazing! So...what next?

Hope you didn't get flooded...I'm about 100 miles north of you and it was a nasty weekend here, but not as bad as you guys!

No we didn't but thanks for asking. On the way back from the Toledo NNL Saturday night (got back around 11pm), I had 2 solid hours of driving through TORRENTIAL rain! (From Dayton to Louisville.) It wasn't fun at all...

Next, I'm not sure. I am thinking of a few--MFH Brabham BT46b (fan car), MFH Toleman TG183b (Senna test), full detail Tamiya Yamaha YZR-M1 '09 (with Top Studio set) or the Tamiya Pennzoil JGTC Skyline with the white metal engine set for full engine detail and full trunk detail as well. I'm feeling kinda open and undecided right about now...:)

No Harm taken Daniel - I should have re-read my question before I posted it - My mistake

You really have a a fantastic scale replica that you have built - I think every bit on par with Bil Atteridge's Ferrari 641 and McLaren MP4/6.

I have not seen a better FW14B than this on the forums I brouse.

Really Congrats Daniel - I hope to see you enter this build in contests and get the recognition it deserves

This build up IS fantastic! Now as someone new to F1 where does someone find/do the research for the 1:1 to accomplish this or even something close. Magazines, this site of course, and ...? Thanks for any info.

The net (gurneyflap.com is great) and a GREAT CD that I got from eBay. It was absolutely worth it. Search eBay US or in the UK and you'll find it. Over 600 pics. Great stuff.
