Can anyone tell me what kind of gas mileage one should get out of a 2001 crown vic with the 8 cylinder engine?

Depends how you drive. We have some cruisers that get close to 26 on the highway and about 10 in the city. We have other drivers that can not break 20 in the highway. So I say if you can average 15 to 18 that is really not too bad.

I just read this on the 'FordForums' website this morning: My Vicky has 178,000km on it and I assumed it needed replacement, not knowing what it's life span is on a vicky.I get 6-7 litres per 100km on the highway using criuse and overdrive and 8-10 in the city which I think is good.
(32-34 mpg american highway,22mpg city)These are averages,they change a little due to headwinds,city traffic etc.Thanks
I just wonder where he is, (He seems to be from europe or canada maybe) and what is he using for fuel? Whatever it is, I want some! I got 18.6 MPG from my last fill up, a little better than the 17.5 I'm averaging.
