I know this may be a repeat question, but I haven't had time to look through the threads. I want to know if a 1998 PI engine and transmission will work in a 1994 PI? Any and all information on this topic will be gladly appreciated. Thank you in advance to all that reply!

Not exactly. '98s use a Coil-On-Plug (COP) ignition system and the '94s use twin distributors.

To make the '98 engine work in a '94, you will have to change the timing cover and any other components necessary to allow for the distributors and ignition system. And you will have to change the water pump to install the mechanical fan used in the '94s since '98s only had an electric fan.

The transmission, as long as your old transmission is an AOD-E (and IIRC they were in 94), should be a direct fit.
