1/24 Studio 27 Dodge Viper GTS-R 2000 Le Mans This is the Studio 27 kit of the class winning Dodge Viper GTS-R run by the French Oreca team against the Corvette C5-R at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in the year 2000. The kit is a mix of resin (body, chassis and dashboard) and white metal parts with a sheet of photo-etched parts and some excellent aluminium wheels. The quality of the resin mouldings was superb with hardly any tidying up needing to be done before painting. The chassis went together pretty well although some bending of the roll cage was needed to make it all fit together properly. Carbon fibre look decal sheet was added to the front splitter and to the rear air diffuser for some added realism. Placing the decals on the body went without a hitch, although some were a little on the big side, the only tricky part was trying to get the white stripes to sit into the vent on the bonnet. Once the finishing touches were in place (lights, aerials etc.) I added a couple of supports for the front diffuser and then it was about finished. Overall a very pleasing result and it sits well alongside the Corvette in the display case. Back
