1/24 Tamiya Ford Focus WRC 2001 This is the Tamiya kit of the Ford Focus world rally car that competed in the opening round of the 2001 World Rally Championship, the Rally of Monte Carlo. The kit is all that you would expect from Tamiya, all parts fitting together without any problems whatsoever. I added to this kit the Studio 27 upgrade kit which has some great extra parts in such as the stencil for the Ford logo on the front radiator mesh and the stone guards behind the rear brake discs, other extras were proper racing harness's for the seats and Sakatsu metal aerials. The painting of the body was slightly complicated as there was nothing in the kit or markings on the body to show the dividing lines between the white and blue on the sides and the rear of the car, I had to cut the decals out and use them as a guide to where to apply the masking tape, the blue paint for the rear end was Tamiya's recommeded TS-51 Telefonica blue, this was the first time I had used a Tamiya spray can and the result was a very nice deep metallic shine. Overall, a great kit to build. Back
